Outreach Center

Faithbridge sits across the street from Sto-Rox High School, in a district ranked 659 out of 677 in Pennsylvania — a place that has taken hit after hit from drugs, violence, and schools that can’t keep up. We don’t think that’s the end of the story. For three years we partnered with LifeWise Academy and watched kids come to faith, get baptized, and keep showing up at church; when their director left, that work paused, but the need didn’t. We’ve now been given the building next door, and we’re not turning it into more Sunday seating. The sanctuary becomes a gym and Bible study space, because around here the one thing that still packs the block is a ballgame. The parsonage becomes beds for mission teams. The fellowship hall becomes an after-school tutoring library, plus adult help with nutrition, GEDs, and driver’s licenses. Construction is only the start. We need churches and people who will give, pray, send teams, and stay long enough to see kids put down what is killing them and turn to Christ.

This neighborhood already shows up for football and baseball. A gym in the old sanctuary gives us a weekday door that isn’t a Sunday service. Training next to Scripture is how we talk about Christ with people who would never walk into a pew.

This room is for opening the Bible during the week, not only on Sunday. A simple table and a quiet space make it easier for students and parents to sit down together. We want the Word close to the rest of the building’s life — fitness, tutoring, and the people who are already walking through the door.

The fellowship hall will become an after-school tutoring library for students who need extra help. We also plan to offer adult classes in nutrition, GED prep, and support getting a driver’s license. The goal is a room where kids and parents can grow in knowledge and in hope.

Partner churches have asked how they can send teams. A proper bedroom in the parsonage gives those guests a place to rest while they serve. It makes it possible for people to stay longer and come back.

A working kitchen supports every other part of the outreach — meals after practice, snacks for tutoring, and food for visiting teams. Sharing a table is already part of how this community gathers. Updating this space helps us welcome people well.
